Christian Bolt - On Human Beauty. A film by Roland Steffen.
I am pleased to announce a collaboration with the internationally renowned sculptor Christian Bolt. Together with Christian Bolt, I will be documenting his work on film throughout 2023 in a series of works for the Impulse Gallery in Lucerne. Filming is planned primarily in his studio in Klosters, but also in Italy mainly in Carrara and Florence, as well as in the Impulse Gallery in Lucerne.
This documentary shows the extraordinary relationship of a Swiss sculptor to Italian high culture. Bolt’s independent reflection and artistic language development, his historical appointment as professor in Florence and his idiosyncratic path through life far from the mainstream art establishment, provide an exciting source of information.

The timing for a comprehensive documentary also seems appropriate, as Bolt will be working on a series of works in the coming months that will be shown to an international audience in autumn 2023 in the former rooms of the well-known Swiss auction house Fischer in Lucerne, which has been redesigned and operated by Galerie Impulse for the past two years. Last but not least, the documentation is embedded in the 50th year of Christian Bolt's life.
