Lago di braies - is the hype justified?

The Braies Lake (Pragser Wildsee) is a mountain lake in the Braies Valley in the South Tyrolean municipality of Braies. It is located a few kilometers south of Alta Pusteria between Brunico and Dobbiaco in the Braies Dolomites. It is part of the Fanes-Sennes-Braies Nature Park and a protected natural monument.

On social channels, the lake has been enormously hyped for some time. On Instagram & Co. you can find thousands of photos of the Pragser Wildsee with the very special color of the water. Admittedly, I also got involved and visited the lake twice at the end of September and beginning of October 2022. On the one hand, an enormous tourist machine is raised around the lake with hundreds of parking spaces and many unnecessary around it, which attracts hundreds of visitors every day and I think in July you can hardly recognize the lake...If you want to be alone with the lake you have to get up early, very early! I have not done that and have made only in the afternoon my round around the lake. If you have enough time, you can take pictures of a rare intimacy even if there are many people around. The question remains: Is the hype around the Pragser See justified? But see for yourself..:
