The light collector - Sony FE 400mm f2.8 GM OSS

IMG_1411.jpeg

After using the Sony FE 100-400mm F4.5-5.6 GM OSS in Namibia in 2019, I replaced it in 2020 with the Sony FE 200-600mm f/5.6-6.3 G OSS, which was used in South Africa in February 2020. Both lenses did not convince me 100%. Therefore, I have now purchased the Sony FE 400mm F2.8 GM OSS. The most important reason for this change is certainly the aperture f2.8, the phenomenal sharpness with a three-dimensionality of the images, which I have previously only seen with my Fuji GFX100S in conjunction with the GF 110mm. Unfortunately, quality also has its price...The lens will now be used in various situations before it is then fed to its real purpose - wildlife shots in Kenya, Tanzania and Botswana - planned in August 2022 - let's see what the status of the pandemic is then....
