Nafud Desert | Saudi Arabia

The Nafud Desert (Al-Nafūd) is a striking desert region covering approximately 65,000–103,600 km² with deep red sand in northern Saudi Arabia, famous for its crescent-shaped dunes up to 180 m high. It stretches across Hail, Al-Jawf, and Tabuk as an oval basin, is known for sudden, violent winds, and serves as a popular destination for adventure tourism, desert camping, and as an archaeologically significant site. Mahajah Arch (or Jabal Mahjah) in Saudi Arabia's Tabuk region, near Tayma, is a remote, breathtaking natural sandstone rock formation featuring two main arches, including a notable "diamond" shaped one. Located in a rocky desert, these 40-meter-high arches are surrounded by ancient petroglyphs and require a 4WD vehicle to access.
